Meat Me in Austin!

Yee-haw!

The news was released earlier today that AgLocal will be competing this spring at the South X Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.  This is great news for us and great news for meat lovers and locavores across the U.S.  More than 670 companies touting web-based products entered into the application process and less than 50 walked away with a ticket to ride.  AgLocal will be competing under the “Innovation” category and representing the Midwest against companies from the coasts.  This is the 4th annual technology festival-although the music festival is in its 24th year.

We are excited to be a part of such an event, particularly because its foundation is based on finding a solution to the issue of isolation that creative types far from the big city have always faced.  In 1987 Austin decided to do something about it; creating a festival that would celebrate musicians from across the world and bring the industry to them, filling the streets with competition and song.   The festival now includes competitions in both film and technology; and it’s no secret that both industries (like with music) boast great talent in all the high and low country in-between New York City and Los Angeles.  Getting overlooked is easy but now we have an outlet and a great opportunity.

We’re going to use the energy from the festival to bring producers and their meat-loving customers closer together.  Let’s bring home the beef!

Thanks SXSW!
